DISTRICT FEM
Periods aren't optional, access to menstrual products is critical
District FEM was started by two juniors (now college-bound seniors)Â at Woodrow Wilson High School in Washington DC. We hold donation drives to collect menstrual products and cash donations. We then donate the menstrual products to community members who may not otherwise have access to them. Cash donations are utilized to purchase more products to then donate. We have donated to Harriet Tubman Women's Shelter, DC Public Schools, Woodrow Wilson High School, and Thrive DC. We have a venmo account as well, @DISTRICTFEM. For more inquiries, please email wilsonstudentfem@gmail.com or message @districtfem on Instagram.
DC COUNCIL PASSES BILL TO PUT MENSTRUAL PRODUCTS IN ALL DC SCHOOLS
We could not be more thrilled by the passage of this bill! We have been working hard to put menstrual products in the hands of those who may not otherwise have access - including DCPS students.
Sophia testified before the DC Council on the importance of this bill and is ecstatic to see it pass!
We donated over 5,000 pads and tampons to District of Columbia Public High Schools for students in need on March 3rd, 2021.
